Cebu Nightlife

Night Clubs I Have Tried in Cebu
Since both of us are a little bit outgoing, we would like to share here the night clubs we usually visit everytime my partner is in Cebu.
Alchology – My first ever bar try in Cebu. Located in Mango Square along General Maxilom Avenue. For entrance fee just prepare P100 for the regulars and P250 for vip’s during events they double or sometimes triple the fee depending on their guest. Beware because the people here are wild, you can see girls and boys drunk dancing on the table. Drinks is affordable not sure about the food. Trendy music, for me the strobes is a little bit over and “no dress code at all”. Alchology is the latest bar that closes, they are open from 10:00pm till 6:00am.
Barcode – It is a 2 storey place located in M. Cuenco Ave in Banilad, its a typical night club with good music, the people here are well dressed, drinks is still affordable and the crowd is also wild. No entrance fee. Beer pong is available outside. The only problem here is the place is very small so it is really crowded.
Distillery – I was surprised when i visited this bar since in Manila its a sports bar. In Cebu this is like Barcode a 2 storey and people are crazy dancing while dj’s play the music. They also offer an extensive collection of whiskies, international beers and premium spirits.
Formo – This is one of my favorite place to go whenever i want to hear different types of music. They have retro music, house, jazz, acoustic and many more depending on the day you visit them, my favorite is Retro Rewind Saturdays. They also serve lunch from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
These are just some of the bars we usually go everytime we have free time on weekends. There’s a lot of bars in Cebu, Cebuanos are really outgoing, they are happy people and always fun to be with.

Resort Tour in Cebu

My Resort Tour

Cebu is also popular as a perfect getaway place because of its 5 star resorts. Here are some of the resorts I’ve visited during my stay in Cebu.

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa – We didn’t actually check in here but if you want to experience a free tour in the resort you can dine in any of their restaurants and take a glimpse of how fascinating this resort is. I toured my clients here and i brought them in Kilimanjaro Kafe they offer International and Filipino favorites. Me and my partner also went here together with 2 of our friends in one of his visits in Cebu. They have 5 restaurants that offers different kinds of cuisine including Fiji Restaurant (seafood and asian), Palermo (spanish, italian and us), Alien Abduction (ice cream parlor and bar during night) and Savannah Grill (fast food and five star flair). Room rate starts from P10,000.00-P12,000.00 per night.
Crimson Resort and Spa – This is my favorite resort in Cebu, this place is really beautiful. The ambience is peaceful and this is a perfect place for getaway from a busy life in the city. I was really captivated by the view of their infinity pool located in the center of the resort. Every morning they will give you fresh flowers together with the schedule of the activities in that particular day. If youre a guest you can join in all the activities for free including water zumba, water games and more. Room rates start from P7,000.00 – P22,000.00 per night good for 2 adults and 2 children 12 years below, breakfast buffet, a massage and cocktail drinks from the Azure Beach Club.
Portofino Beach Resort – This resort is like a public type of resort wherein you can just rent table or cottage for your whole day stay. I remember going here in one of their events, a beach party during holy week. People are just partying all over the area while the loud music plays. They have different ocean adventures here like island hoping, jet ski, underwater walk and more which i heard is quite pricey (not sure of their price). For visitors who wants to stay for overnight they have rooms available prices start from P3000.00 – P4500.00.

Other 5 star resorts are really expensive for a regular employee like us, thanks to my company for giving me the opportunity to stay in some of these resorts. Well known resorts also include Shangri la Mactan, Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island, Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa and many more.

Living in Cebu

Working in sales for almost eight years brought me into different places that i never thought i would go or sometimes places that i will stay (one year, the shortest). Back in 2013 i was assigned in Cebu, i stayed there for almost one year and two months, if you are from Manila, you won’t definitely miss the city since Cebu has everything Manila has to offer. From nightlife, restaurants and even malls. When I landed Cebu believe me, i really don’t know where will I go, I don’t have relatives nor friends there just counterparts (thats how we call our workmates). My counterpart fetched me at the airport and brought me to that not so expensive inn located at Escario street besides Bo’s coffee the Cebuview Tourist Innif i may remember I paid less than P1000 per night and i stayed there for 3 days  before I was able to look for my permanent place to stay while I’m in Cebu. I stayed in a studio type pad located at Forest Hills, Banawa, its a subdivision near the city proper. Kuya Paul, my landlord was so generous that he offered me the pad half of its original price since i told him Im alone but planning to look for roommate to atleast save for the rent. In the first 3 months he told me that my rent would be P3000 per month but on the 4th month wether I’m alone or has a roommate the rent would be P6000 per month. At first, since my car havent been arriving yet from Manila I had hard time going out of the village, my house is like 10 minute walk from the main road but you can actually take habal-habal, a motorcycle serving as a public vehicle within the village, it’s P10 per ride. Usually habal habal drivers stay up to around 12 in the midnight, so whenever I want to go for a nightout I just text my friend habal habal driver and he will fetch me from the house and he’ll bring me to the main road so it’s P20 already. From the main road you can easily take a cab going to different bars and restaurants  in the city.

The Beginning

I never had the chance to tell to anyone how great and happy my life is specially those moments that i have shared with my special someone. We might belong to that unconventional type of relationship (but i guess not nowadays) but i believe what we have experienced for the past six years of relationship was really full of thrill, excitement, adventures and of course “L….OVE”. I have decided to atleast share a little bit of our fun and memories just to give me satisfaction that once in my life (as if there is another life, who knows?) i have shared to the world, the universe rather (forgive me, im a fan) that what we had was not just dramas and sacrifices but experiences that made our relationship more strong and a love that is worth keeping and fighting for. And now i think i lost focus on what this blog is all about, i did this simply because i want to share our travels, tips on where you can find cheap yet comfortable place whenever you want to go for a vacation, food that is not that expensive but will surely satisfy your cravings and some of the activities that you can do everytime your in the same place we went. We do travel the cheapest way possible since we dont have that white collar job as they called but im telling you, it was fun and worth remembering trip. so let me start and you guys hope to travel with us.
